facebook

facebook History of Facebook Initially Facebook was set up in 2004 by Mark Zuckerberg , as a network for Harvard students and graduates. Early users discovered how easy it was to find friends and acquaintances on Facebook, and more people began using the network and sharing their photos, links, thoughts, ideas and party announcements. Eventually Facebook became a popular place for forming new online friendships, in addition to connecting with personal friends and family members. When members of Facebook could set up their own fan pages, and invite others to become a fan, this increased the opportunity to connect with more people. Now simply known as Facebook Pages, these allow a lot of people to follow and participate in a community page, simply by “liking” it. Facebook also provided businesses with the ideal opportunity to connect with millions of users. It quickly became essential, for anyone with an online business, a home business, or a local business, to have a Facebook page. It

Koenigsegg

koenigsegg According to the company's web site, Christian von Koenigsegg has been dreaming of building the perfect sports car since he was five. Along the road to making that dream a reality, he invented (and abandoned) a device called the Chip Player, a forefather of theiPod, and an early version of the Click! snap-together flooring system. Von Koenigsegg was bored with running his import/export company, though, and so in 1994, at the advanced age of 22, he set up Koenigsegg Automotive to funnel his supercarambitions into a real-world automobile. The emblem, a colorful shield, is a riff on the Koenigsegg family coat of arms. From Prototype to Production: Von Koenigsegg himself sketched and modeled the cars he wanted to build. In 1996, two years after he launched the company, a working prototype with full interior was completed. In 2002, the Koenigsegg CC8S was crash-tested and European-legal, and serial production of the company's first model began. Numbers are still small, th

Black holes

imaging Black holes are the cold remnantsof former stars, so dense that no matter—not even light—is able to escape their powerful gravitational pull. While most stars end up as whitedwarfs or neutron stars , black holes are the last evolutionary stage in the lifetimes of enormous stars that had been at least 10 or 15 times as massive as our own sun. When giant stars reach the final stages of their lives they often detonate in cataclysms known as supernovae . Such an explosion scatters most of a star into the void of space but leaves behind alarge "cold" remnant on which fusion no longer takes place. In younger stars, nuclear fusion creates energy and a constant outward pressure that exists in balance with the inward pull of gravity caused by the star's own mass. But in the dead remnants of a massive supernova, no force opposes gravity—so the star begins to collapse in upon itself. With no force to check gravity, a budding black hole shrinks to zero volume—at which point i
